Role Overview:

We are seeking a Global Category Manager – Finished Goods to join our dynamic Global Procurement team. This pivotal position is essential for fostering a high-performance culture and establishing benchmarks for Procurement Excellence. The successful candidate will adopt a strategic and innovative approach to Category Management as we navigate our transformation journey.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the comprehensive Global Category Management for finished goods medical devices within Convatec's External Manufacturing Procurement.
  • Formulate long-term strategic plans that align with both current and anticipated customer and business requirements.
  • Define category strategies through collaboration with key stakeholders and suppliers, ensuring optimal cost management, resilience, and continuous improvement.
  • Develop and maintain critical relationships to ensure alignment of Category Strategies with business needs and supplier capabilities.
  • Implement category plans that deliver measurable value to the organization.
  • Oversee the Source to Contract (S2C) process, identifying opportunities and managing sourcing strategies effectively.
  • Utilize Supplier Relationship Management to continually assess and enhance supplier performance and capabilities.
  • Ensure that Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) targets are met for all suppliers within your category.
  • Possibly manage a Strategic Buyer(s) to ensure timely execution of category plans, depending on category complexity.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in a Strategic Procurement/Sourcing environment, ideally within a regulated industry.
  • A relevant university degree in engineering, business, economics, or a similar field.
  • Proven expertise in Category Management principles with the ability to develop actionable strategies.
  • Experience with e-procurement tools for vendor evaluation and selection.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of engaging with diverse stakeholders.
  • Results-oriented mindset with a focus on achieving targets and deadlines.
  • Demonstrated analytical problem-solving abilities and a solid understanding of financial principles.
  • Experience negotiating with suppliers on commercial and contractual matters.
  • Able to foster innovative ideas and challenge the status quo among stakeholders.
  • Proficient in influencing key stakeholders to secure optimal value for the organization.
