About the Role

Pertemps Plymouth Commercial is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Client Accounts Manager to join our team. As a key member of our financial services team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to our clients, ensuring their financial needs are met, and helping them achieve their business goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Statement Preparation: Prepare and review financial statements for client businesses, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Audit and Compliance: Conduct audits of financial statements for client businesses, including site visits, to ensure compliance with statutory requirements and deadlines.
  • Tax Compliance: Prepare tax computations and tax returns for client businesses and individuals, ensuring timely submission and compliance with tax laws.
  • Client Portfolio Management: Maintain a client portfolio, including quoting, fee, and statutory deadline management, to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Client Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, handling telephone calls, emails, and correspondence related to their financial matters.
  • Team Support: Provide training and support to junior members of staff, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to deliver exceptional service.
  • Office Management: Contribute to office management meetings and participate in the management of the accounts production workflow.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Tax Return Reviews: Conduct reviews of tax returns, including personal tax, Corporation Tax, and VAT, to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Registration and Advisory Services: Assist clients with registration for taxes, including VAT, PAYE, and CIS, and provide advisory services on matters related to VAT, PAYE, and CIS.
  • Payroll and CIS Review: Review payroll and CIS work for selected clients or when required for staff absence cover.
  • HMRC Investigations: Handle HMRC investigations and provide guidance to clients on their obligations and responsibilities.
  • Business Advisory Services: Provide advisory services to clients on suitable share structures and remuneration packages, as well as preparing management accounts, cashflows, and forecasts.
  • Accountant's References: Prepare accountant's references for mortgage/loan applications, insurance, or other purposes.
  • Reconstituted Accounts: Prepare reconstituted accounts for clients to present to potential purchasers of their businesses.
  • Bookkeeping and Compliance: Advise clients on bookkeeping methods and improvements to existing methods, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Correspondence and Communication: Correspond with other agencies, such as banks, insurance companies, and other firms of accountants, solicitors, relating to client's business and/or personal affairs.
  • Training and Development: Attend training courses relevant to your role and maintain training records to comply with your qualifications' CPD rules.
  • Marketing and Networking: Attend various marketing and networking events to promote our services and build relationships with potential clients.
  • Statutory Forms: Prepare and file various statutory forms on behalf of client businesses as necessary.
  • Tax Savings and Business Improvement: Offer suitable tax saving and/or business improvement ideas to clients.
