Job Title: Laboratory Technician Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Laboratory Technician to join our Environmental team at NOV. As a Laboratory Technician, you will be responsible for providing high-quality technical laboratory work, ensuring compliance with Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) regulations, and supporting ecotoxicology and environmental fate studies. Key Responsibilities: * Maintain and repair laboratory equipment, systems, and infrastructure * Assist with nominated studies and ensure laboratory duties are undertaken in compliance with GLP regulations * Ensure laboratory facilities are maintained to GLP requirements at all times * Participate in the maintenance and repairs of laboratory equipment, systems, and infrastructure * Ensure calibration of equipment is undertaken and maintained in a timely manner * Maintain stock levels of equipment, materials, and consumables * Become involved with the improvement of technical practices and method development * Assist with field work and in other areas as required * Ensure a high standard of professionalism is maintained when representing NOV * Maintain a high standard of housekeeping in the work area and department * Ensure personal compliance with all HSE legislation and HSE Company policy Requirements: * Able to understand, evaluate, and apply technical information * Capable of keeping abreast of an evolving portfolio of products and services * Able to understand the business needs and drivers * Adept at exercising good judgement (sometimes with incomplete information) whilst being constrained by tight deadlines * Able to apportion time effectively to complete tasks * Willing to provide colleagues with the information they need to complete their tasks and eliminate obstacles * Quick to identify critical information and respond appropriately * Can undertake multiple activities and resources to accomplish a goal * Can be counted on to take personal responsibility in challenging situations and be willing to engage in disputes to settle them equitably * Strong sense of customer focus * Firm and diplomatic when negotiating * A candid team player who collaborates with peers to solve problems * Committed to self-improvement and development through the role to achieve career goals
