Ambition Europe Limited is seeking an experienced Audit Senior or Audit Assistant Manager to join their Cambridge office. As a key member of the audit team, you will be responsible for leading audit engagements, developing detailed audit plans, and ensuring the accuracy and compliance of financial statements.
Your role will involve working with a diverse range of clients, from owner-managed businesses to large international groups, across various sectors including corporate clients, financial services, and not-for-profit organisations. You will be assigned a buddy to help you settle in and will have access to flexible working arrangements and well-being support.
Key Responsibilities
- Audit Planning: Develop detailed audit plans, including scope, objectives, and timelines, tailored to each client's needs.
- Fieldwork Execution: Lead audit fieldwork, including testing financial records, evaluating internal controls, and gathering audit evidence.
- Financial Statement Analysis: Review and analyse financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
- Risk Assessment: Identify key areas of risk within the client's organisation and develop strategies to mitigate them.
- Team Supervision: Manage and mentor junior audit staff, reviewing their work, and providing constructive feedback.
- Client Interaction: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, addressing their queries, and providing regular updates on audit progress.
- Internal Controls Evaluation: Assess the effectiveness of clients' internal controls and recommend improvements.
- Audit Reporting: Prepare comprehensive audit reports, summarizing findings, and presenting them to client management and stakeholders.
- Compliance Verification: Ensure that clients comply with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
- Professional Development: Keep up to date with changes in auditing standards, regulations, and best practices, and apply this knowledge to audit engagements.
Requirements
- ACA ICAEW, ACCA or equivalent qualified
- 3 years' experience working in audit in the UK
