Job Overview

Position Summary:

The Senior Java Engineer will be instrumental in the architecture, development, and upkeep of Java-driven applications tailored for our financial systems. This role demands a highly proficient individual with exceptional programming skills in Java, a solid grasp of object-oriented design concepts, and familiarity with various Java frameworks and web development technologies. The ideal candidate will possess experience in managing distributed storage solutions, CI/CD processes, and Unix/Linux operating systems.

Core Responsibilities:

Application Design and Development:

  • Design, implement, and sustain Java-based applications that are resilient, scalable, and high-performing.
  • Apply object-oriented design principles to create high-quality, maintainable software solutions.
  • Engage with cross-functional teams to outline, design, and deliver new functionalities.

Framework Utilization:

  • Leverage Java frameworks such as DropWizard, Spring, and Hibernate to boost application efficiency and maintainability.
  • Employ web development frameworks like Angular or React to develop dynamic and responsive user interfaces.

Database Management:

  • Integrate and oversee distributed storage systems including DB2, Oracle, Cassandra, and MongoDB.
  • Ensure data accuracy and enhance database performance through effective querying and indexing strategies.

CI/CD and DevOps Practices:

  • Establish and manage continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines, particularly utilizing Git.
  • Collaborate with DevOps teams to optimize the deployment process and automate workflows.

Qualifications:

Educational Background:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.

Professional Experience:

  • At least 5 years of experience in Java development.
  • Demonstrated experience with Java frameworks such as DropWizard, Spring, and Hibernate.
  • Knowledge of web development frameworks (Angular or React).

Technical Proficiencies:

  • Strong programming expertise in Java with a comprehensive understanding of object-oriented design principles.
