Position Overview
The ideal candidate will facilitate the warehousing and distribution functions by safely maneuvering vehicles throughout the facility.
Primary Duties
- Operate vehicles in a responsible and lawful manner, adhering to all legal and site regulations.
- Maintain awareness of other drivers, coworkers, and pedestrians in the vicinity.
- Conduct all required daily inspections, promptly reporting any defects and completing necessary documentation.
- Timely completion of all required paperwork, including movement logs.
- Exhibit respect towards other road users and the public, safeguarding the company’s reputation at all times.
- Follow company policies and procedures as outlined in the shunter manual and other relevant guidelines.
- Ensure all personal protective equipment (PPE) is in proper condition and used as directed.
- Perform all tasks in accordance with the relevant Safe Systems of Work (SSOW).
- Continuously seek opportunities to enhance processes and services.
- Verify that all vehicles are inspected for defects before use and report any issues immediately.
Required Qualifications
- Must possess a valid HGV 1/C+E License for at least 2 years.
- No more than 6 penalty points and no DD/DR Code convictions.
- Current valid DCPC Card is required.
- Knowledge of and compliance with Drivers' hours and Working Time Directive legislation.
- Able to perform necessary vehicle inspections to ensure safety and accurately report defects.
- Must adhere to on-site health and safety protocols.
