Kier Group is seeking a dedicated Project Manager to become an integral part of our Regional Civils team. This role involves overseeing one of the most significant flood defense initiatives in England.
Location: Somerset
Employment Type: Permanent, Full-Time
Key Responsibilities
As a Project Manager, you will operate within the framework established by the Environment Agency, facilitating the comprehensive delivery of the flood defense project. Your daily responsibilities will include:
- Leading diverse teams, including commercial, program controls, and engineering, to devise solutions that meet client needs and create a solid baseline plan for project management.
- Ensuring project timelines are developed in P6 with sufficient detail for operational teams to execute the project effectively while maintaining contractual compliance.
- Tracking project advancement, recognizing potential setbacks, and implementing necessary corrective measures.
- Collaborating with architects, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure adherence to project specifications and commitments.
- Working closely with the Senior Project Manager and other members of the Senior Management Team to guide, motivate, and develop specialized teams to achieve objectives for both internal and external stakeholders.
Candidate Profile
This Project Manager role is ideal for individuals who possess:
- Experience with main contractors on civil or marine projects.
- Membership in the Association for Project Management or an equivalent organization, with a focus on achieving chartered status.
- Strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and industry standards.
