Job Summary:
Major Recruitment is seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a Driver Assistant. As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of goods to our customers.
Main Responsibilities:
- Delivery and Installation: Safely deliver, install, and demonstrate white goods, televisions, and cookers to customers' properties.
- Customer Service: Engage with customers, keep them informed, and ensure delivery and installation are carried out to the highest standard following best practice guidance.
- Communication and Problem-Solving: Maintain regular contact with the site throughout the day to meet any changes to customer delivery requests, discuss and escalate unplanned issues, and adapt as necessary.
- Operational Efficiency: Ensure the handheld operating device (Savvy) is always used correctly by completing visits and obtaining customer signatures.
- Collaboration and Liaison: Liaise with manufacturers at the point of delivery when necessary and handle all products safely and with care, supporting colleagues to do the same.
- Physical Requirements: Meet the physical requirements of the role and ensure you follow continuous professional development, maintaining your driving license and ensuring required training and knowledge is kept up to date.
- Load Management: Manage changing volumes of load held in the vehicle during the day, regularly reviewing, adjusting, and securing the load to ensure safety while using equipment provided.
- Compliance and Safety: Work compliantly, following site-specific requirements, company, and health and safety policies, to keep our customers and colleagues safe.
- Additional Responsibilities: Carry out the delivery and collection of tote boxes and products from our retail stores.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Customer Service: A passion for delivering excellent customer service.
- Communication: Strong verbal communication, both on the phone and face-to-face in our customers' homes.
- Flexibility and Teamwork: Work flexibly, alone or collaboratively with colleagues, to ensure we win together.
- Equipment Handling: Utilize equipment and correctly handle products to ensure best practice for a safe delivery, e.g., following manual handling and health and safety training.
- Problem-Solving: Take responsibility for own learning and help us become the home for the best talent.
- Initiative and Adaptability: Ability to use initiative to problem-solve in a timely and calm manner to ensure both business and customer needs are satisfied.
