Position Overview

As a Reliability Engineer, you will leverage your skills to develop, sustain, and enhance Best Buy Health's internal and customer-oriented services. Your daily responsibilities will involve collaboration across various teams, including Software Engineering, Information Security, and Quality Assurance.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will be actively engaged in:

  • Enhancing and ensuring the availability, performance, security, and scalability of our platform.
  • Creating new and maintaining existing infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code, Configuration as Code, Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD), and custom tools.
  • Collaborating with software engineering teams on designing new systems or rearchitecting current services to fulfill evolving requirements.
  • Providing training, documentation, support, and tools to empower software engineering teams to take complete ownership of their services from inception through to production operations.

Essential Qualifications

  • Associate's degree, Coding Bootcamp certification, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A minimum of 1 year of relevant professional experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with AWS services, Linux, networking, infrastructure as code, configuration as code, and managing distributed systems.
  • Proficiency in at least one modern high-level programming language (e.g., Java, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Go).
  • A methodical approach to problem-solving, even in uncertain situations, while collaborating with the broader team.
  • Experience in cost optimization activities to align our AWS infrastructure with patient needs while maintaining profitability.
  • Collaboration with software engineering teams to provide insights and opinions on new system designs or rearchitecting existing services.
  • Availability to provide 24/7 support for the product, addressing live issues as they arise.
