About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Health and Social Care Coach to join our team. As a Coach, you will work in conjunction with our apprenticeship delivery team to coach and assess learners, supporting them as they progress through the Adult Care Apprenticeship. This is a full-time permanent remote-based role with regional travel as required.

You will have the opportunity to manage your own diary, making full use of technology and face-to-face visits. As part of the role, you will visit care homes to carry out face-to-face observations. The successful candidate must hold an Assessors Qualification.

Main Responsibilities and Duties
  • To recruit and onboard candidates in line with CareShield's policy.
  • To deliver teaching and learning to learners in one-to-one and group situations.
  • To plan and agree targets and action plans with learners to ensure progress through the programme and/or competency qualifications.
  • To assess the health and safety provision in place to ensure the safety of learners and the Coach.
  • To be responsible for the timely and effective assessment of learners in the workplace, ensuring necessary planning and feedback is negotiated and recorded, to meet Awarding Body standards.
  • To maintain and promote National and Awarding Body standards, ensuring quality of provision to meet internal and external standards.
  • To maintain CareShield records on attendance, progress, interventions, and communications for evaluation and accountability.
Job Requirements

  • Salary: £25,000 to £27,000 per annum.
  • Opportunity to earn up to £2,400 in incentives for completion per learner caseload.
  • 25 days holiday plus bank holidays (33 in total).
  • Hours of work are Monday to Thursday 8:30am to 5:30pm, Fridays 8:30am to 4pm.

Essential Skills and Qualifications
  • Functional skills in Maths and English level 2 or equivalent.
  • A minimum Level 3 Healthcare qualification or NVQ in Health and Social Care.
  • Either TAQA, A1, PTLLS qualification or equivalent assessors' awards.
  • Proven track record of ability to deliver apprenticeships.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • IT competent.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to liaise effectively with all levels of staff and outside agencies.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Health & Social Care Level 4 - Lead Practitioner in Adult Care.
  • Health & Social Care Level 5 – Leadership and management.
