We are seeking a skilled Claim Handler to join our team in Manchester or Redhill on a permanent basis. As a Claim Handler, you will be responsible for handling property claims, analyzing policy coverage, and negotiating settlements in accordance with company guidelines and best practices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze and apply policy coverage accurately to all assigned claims.
  • Investigate assigned claims to determine the extent of damage or loss.
  • Negotiate and settle claims proactively, ensuring timely and fair resolutions.
  • Reserve claims accurately, taking into account company guidelines and best practices.
  • Ensure that company service standards are upheld, providing excellent customer service and communication.
  • Maintain accurate data and records, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with external vendors to ensure quality and cost-effective services.
  • Authorize claim payments and reserves within agreed claims handling authority.
  • Provide technical advice and support to colleagues and stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) including Maths and English.
  • Some prior insurance-related activity experience (e.g. paralegal, insurance operations, insurance broker).
  • Intermediate communication skills, business perspective, and ability to build collaborative relationships.
  • Intermediate ability to think analytically and strategically, exercise sound judgment, and decision-making.
  • Advanced customer focus and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
