About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Assistant Finance Manager to join our team at NHS South Yorkshire Integrated Care Board. As a key member of our Finance team, you will play a critical role in providing financial management information, identifying and analyzing risks and variances, and supporting the Senior Finance Manager in budget setting and forecasting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide accurate and timely financial management information, including forecasts, to support business decision-making.
  • Identify and analyze risks and variances, and provide advice and recommendations to management.
  • Support the Senior Finance Manager in budget setting and forecasting, and provide financial planning and analysis expertise.
  • Work effectively across the ICB in a multi-disciplinary environment, and liaise with other organizations across the region.
  • Produce month-end accounts and reports, and contribute to the total accounts of the ICB.
Person Specification

We are looking for a candidate with:

  • Strong financial planning and analysis skills, with experience in financial systems and budgeting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with senior managers and other stakeholders.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and trust, and work in a busy and deadline-driven environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and analyze complex financial trends.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong desire to improve performance and make a difference.
Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

  • AAT level 4 or equivalent qualification, or degree-level qualification in a relevant field.
  • Experience working in a finance environment, with a strong understanding of financial systems and budgeting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with senior managers and other stakeholders.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and trust, and work in a busy and deadline-driven environment.
