Role:
We are seeking an experienced Software Engineer to join our team at CND Limited. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and delivering mission-critical software solutions for our defence powerhouse partner.

Type:
This is a permanent role, offering a great opportunity to work on exciting projects and develop your skills in a dynamic environment.

Location:
The role will be based in Gloucester, with some flexibility in working location.

Clearance:
SC/DV clearance is required for this role.

CND Limited is partnering with a global defence powerhouse to build a team of skilled Software Engineers. As a Software Engineer, you will play a crucial role in delivering software solutions that meet the needs of our partner and their customers.

You will work on a range of projects, including Intelligence and Cyber Security, where your input will be valued in developing new elements. You will take on the role of creative and developing cutting-edge systems and apps with a close eye on secure coding practices and DevSecOps principles.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with Java or Python, good knowledge of developing in a Linux environment, and working knowledge of Git version control and GitLabs CI/CD pipelines. Exposure to front-end elements like JavaScript, TypeScript or React, and some data interrogation with ElasticSearch and Kibana is also desirable.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, conduct and coordinating software development activities
  • Work to test software, removing bugs and issues
  • Engage the customer to ensure that products being developed and delivered are to meet standards and needs
  • Document operating instructions and the development of the program
  • Analyse the system to ensure it continues to meet customer demands

Essential Skills:

  • Proficient in Java or another language such as Python
  • Good knowledge of developing in a Linux environment
  • Working knowledge of Git version control and GitLabs CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience working with Apache NiFi
  • Some exposure to front-end elements like JavaScript, TypeScript or React
  • Some data interrogation with ElasticSearch and Kibana
  • Exposure to working with Atlassian products
