About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Strategic Buyer to join our Operations team at Huel. As a key member of our procurement team, you will play a crucial role in developing and implementing a procurement strategy that drives business growth and improves our product range.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a procurement strategy that takes our ingredient portfolio to the next level, ensuring we maintain a competitive edge in the market.
• Cross-functional collaboration with our NPD and technical teams to understand their material requirements and ensure seamless product development.
• Supplier relationship management, building on existing relationships and establishing new ones to drive cost savings and improve quality.
• Monitor supplier technical, ethical, and sustainability standards to ensure compliance with our company values.
• Cost negotiation to secure the best possible prices for our ingredients.
• Work closely with the Materials Planning Team to ensure we have adequate material availability.
• Mentor and coach other members of the procurement team to support their development and growth.
• Lead on procurement projects to drive business growth and improve efficiency.

Requirements

• 3-4 years of experience in a procurement or senior buying position, preferably in a food manufacturing or FMCG environment.
• Strong commercial acumen and ability to analyze data to drive business decisions.
• Excellent communication skills to build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and suppliers.
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.
