Job Title: Data Center Engineer

ERT is seeking a highly skilled Data Center Engineer to support our environmental satellite data center in Fairmont, WV. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance of our servers and network equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide primary support to non-legacy Consolidated Backup (CBU) system operations
  • Perform corrective and preventive maintenance, data center walkthroughs, emergency maintenance response, and status reporting
  • Monitor and perform preventive and corrective maintenance on servers and network equipment
  • Inspect network and computer cables for conformance with engineering drawings and signs of wear or installation that deviates from systems drawings and documentation
  • Support wall to wall 'touch' inventory, spare parts and consumables inventory audits and spot checks
  • Collaborate with software and network engineering teams on cybersecurity and network efficiency
  • Upgrade internal system components, including CPUs, memory, hard drives, and network cables
Requirements:
  • 4+ years of experience as a data center technician, or similar position
  • CompTIA ServerPlus, CompTIA Network, or CCNP certification would be advantageous
  • In-depth knowledge of data center environments, servers, and network equipment
  • Exceptional ability to work as part of a team, provide IT support, and resolve errors
  • Ability to keep up with advancements in data center infrastructure and technologies
