Key Responsibilities
  • Supplier Management: Identify and develop relationships with high-quality suppliers to drive competitive edge for the business.
  • Cost Reduction and Negotiation: Focus on reducing costs and negotiating the best deals whilst improving quality and supply.
  • Order Management: Daily ordering of materials and arranging timely delivery based on supply chain demands.
  • Procurement Compliance: Ensure all procurement activity conforms to best practice and Company ethics, principles, and processes.
  • Critical Supply Shortage Management: Work with the Production teams in the event of a critical supply shortage risk.
  • Risk Escalation: Escalate perceived risks and actual non-conformities in real time.
  • Data Analysis: Analyse data to identify problems and trends to determine areas for performance improvement.
  • Performance Benchmarking: Provide analysis and insight to inform the annual planning and budgeting process including creation of performance benchmarks.
  • Operational Efficiency Improvement: Develop ideas and strategies to improve operational efficiencies, add value, aid business performance and work towards a strategy of continuous improvement.
Requirements
  • Experience: Experience in procurement or related industries highly desirable.
  • Technical Skills: Ability to learn and adapt quickly to MRP systems.
  • Software Proficiency: Fully conversant with MS Office software, especially Excel.
  • Methodologies: Strong in continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills across multiple levels of the organisation.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Analytical, organised, and numerically astute with strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Work Environment: Able to function well in a high-paced, demanding environment.
  • Education: Educated to at least A-level; CIPS advantageous.
