About Sheffield Forgemasters Engineering Ltd

We are a leading steel production and engineering company, renowned for designing, manufacturing, and delivering high-quality steel forgings and castings. Our company has undergone significant growth and modernization after being acquired by the UK Ministry of Defence in 2021, securing our role as a critical supplier to the next generation of UK defence programmes.

Our 64-acre site in Sheffield is home to our Forge and Melt Shop, where we are seeking a Quality Assurance Specialist to support and guide our production teams in producing high-quality forgings, molten steel, or ingots. The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Monitoring processes to ensure adherence to manufacturing procedures, quality management systems, and technical principles.
  • Identifying and implementing Continuous Improvement projects to enhance our production processes.
  • Identifying quality concerns and non-conformances, and taking corrective action.
  • Monitoring steelmaking and forging processes to ensure they meet technical procedures.
  • Participating in the Quality Clinic, investigating and resolving issues raised.

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Previous experience in a quality-focused role.
  • Familiarity with technical procedures in a production environment.
  • Experience in report writing.
  • Ability and willingness to be flexible in working hours to meet business needs.
  • High attention to detail to ensure accurate maintenance of quality registers.
