Railway Maintenance Specialist

As a key member of our maintenance team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our rail network. Your primary responsibility will be to work outdoors in a small team, supporting essential maintenance activities to keep the railway running smoothly for passengers and freight users.
Key Responsibilities- Work with equipment including signals, level crossings, and points systems to ensure safe and efficient train operation.
- Develop technical skills across a range of manual, electrical, and digital equipment.
- Transport kit across challenging terrain and work in demanding manual conditions.
- Provide lookout duties to ensure the safety of the team and maintain equipment.
- Support the team in maintaining equipment and driving the team from site to site.
- Teamworking: Ability to work closely with the team to deliver safe and efficient work delivery.
- Communication: Good communication skills to work safely and effectively.
- Proactive planning: Punctuality, having the van and equipment ready, and anticipating the needs of the team are essential.
- Working under pressure: Ability to remain calm under pressure while working outdoors in all conditions.
- Following rules and instructions: Understanding and respect for rules, with confidence to challenge if a situation is unsafe.
- Willingness to learn: Consistently develop skills and competencies relevant to the discipline.
