Division Overview

We specialize in delivering outstanding port agency and logistics services, offering integrated solutions tailored for clients in the marine and energy industries. Our established team of ship agents is recognized for their commitment to quality, providing 24/7 vessel agency services to the offshore energy and dry bulk sectors.

Role Summary

In the position of Accounts Assistant, you will join our experienced UK accounting team, with a primary focus on managing cash books, customer invoicing, and providing credit control support in line with company policies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct daily reconciliation and processing of all banking transactions.
  • Ensure accurate allocation of customer payments and supplier invoices.
  • Review draft invoices prepared by the Disbursement Clerk and issue final invoices accordingly.
  • Address customer inquiries and requests effectively.
  • Generate customer credit notes and issue revised invoices as required.
  • Complete any necessary registration processes for customers onboarding Clarkson Port Services as a supplier.
  • Facilitate payment arrangements for customer refunds when applicable.
  • Manage and reconcile all company credit card transactions.
  • Provide coverage for Disbursement Clerk responsibilities as needed.
  • Assist with billing for Shortsea activities when required.
  • Perform additional tasks as necessary to support business needs.

Additional Qualifications

  • Previous experience in an accounting role is preferred.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly Excel and Outlook.
  • Familiarity with Sage 200 and Foxit PDF Editor is advantageous.
  • A strong aptitude for numbers and attention to detail.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • A willingness to learn and contribute to team objectives.
