Job Summary:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Apply DO297 guidelines to structure IMA development, safety, and certification plans in collaboration with internal stakeholders and suppliers.
  • Utilize the integrated tool chain provided by the platform provider to build and test IMA Applications, on the virtual test bench, and with the hardware in the loop.
  • Define standards for validation, verification, and functional testing.
  • Collaborate with the Project Lead to provide regular updates about progress, design evolution risks, issues, and roadblocks.
  • Provide technical direction and recommendations in design reviews covering hardware, software, data network aspects, and development processes.
  • Interface with other stakeholders of the project, including the advanced design group, disciplines knowledge owners, and fellows of the engineering community, to ensure technology is shared.
  • Prepare technical documentation and reports capturing analysis, results of activities, and recommend next steps.

Requirements:

  • University degree in computer/software/electrical/aerospace engineering.
  • Experience with complex aircraft systems development and integration.
  • Familiarity with networking communication protocols and related software development (UDP/IP, Ethernet...).
  • Experience with Embedded Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS), such as VxWorks 653, is an asset.
  • Experience in software development for Critical Real-Time Embedded Systems, distributed Systems, and related technologies (e.g. Networks, Processing, Software development cycles) is an asset.
  • Sound engineering judgment and problem-solving skills, responsible and accountable, with a positive attitude, and ability to interact, communicate, and coordinate activities with peers, management, collaborators.
  • Strong oral presentation and technical writing skills in English and good functional French communication skills.
  • Understanding of aircraft systems integration at aircraft level, their operation, ground and flight test aspects, component qualification, reliability, and safety requirements, and FAR Part 25 / CAR 525 certification process is an asset.
  • Experience with model development of controllers using Simulink type tools is an asset.
