Job Title: Health and Safety Manager

About the Role:

Gleeson Recruitment Group is seeking a highly skilled Health and Safety Manager to join our client's team. As a key member of the Facilities Management team, you will be responsible for ensuring the company's compliance with health and safety regulations and standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Legislation and Compliance:
    • Develop and implement a robust health and safety policy and procedure plan for the day-to-day management of a multi-let property management business.
    • Act as the first point of contact for guidance on safety matters, liaising closely with the in-house legal team on suitability and compliance.
    • Support teams in embracing change within the compliance landscape and implement control measures to mitigate risk.
    • Stay up-to-date on changes to legislation and government guidance in respect to operational risk, including the preparation and issue of health and safety alerts, bulletins, and information.
    • Advise the business on any changes in legislation that may affect compliant operations, including changes in statutory maintenance requirements.
  • Safety Management and Monitoring:
    • Develop and implement effective safety management systems to ensure the company's compliance with health and safety regulations.
    • Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
    • Collaborate with the Facilities Management team to ensure that safety procedures are followed and that risks are mitigated.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in health and safety management, preferably in a facilities management or property management environment.
  • Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation and regulations, including the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to analyze complex information and make informed decisions.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
