Job Opportunity: Behaviour Support Assistant

GSL Education is seeking a Behaviour Support Assistant to work with a vibrant school in Leicester. The ideal candidate will have experience working with individuals and small groups of children with social, emotional and behavioural difficulties.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting pupils with SEMH and additional challenging behaviour, building strong relationships and de-escalating volatile situations. They will work with pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups, supporting their learning and development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support pupils with SEMH and additional challenging behaviour
  • Build strong relationships with pupils and staff
  • De-escalate volatile situations and ensure pupil and staff safety
  • Work with pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
  • Support pupils' learning and development

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working as a Behaviour Mentor
  • Ability to improve behaviour and wellbeing of individual pupils
  • Experience supporting pupils with learning difficulties
  • Ability to establish positive relationships quickly
  • Flexibility to work with pupils inside and outside the classroom
