This role involves working with elderly individuals facing both functional and organic mental health challenges.
We seek a qualified psychologist to conduct specialized evaluations and therapeutic interventions as part of a collaborative multidisciplinary team. Your responsibilities will include assessing, planning, implementing, and reviewing treatment strategies based on evidence-based practices. Our approach is guided by the Model of Human Occupation, ensuring that interventions are meaningful and tailored to individual needs.
The successful candidate will engage in regular supervision and performance evaluations while also mentoring junior staff members. You will receive comprehensive support and guidance from the Clinical Psychology Lead.
This position requires accountability for both your own work and that of delegated tasks, adhering to professional guidelines.
Main Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be expected to:
- Deliver psychological expertise, providing specialized interventions grounded in the Model of Human Occupation and recovery principles.
- Conduct psychological assessments and offer guidance to facilitate patient engagement in meaningful activities and enhance their functional abilities.
- Operate independently in assessing and treating patients with complex needs, including those with diverse mental health conditions such as dementia.
- Ensure the delivery of safe, efficient, and effective patient-centered care, aligned with established evidence-based practices and local and national standards.
- Collaborate effectively within the multidisciplinary team.
- Exhibit a flexible approach to support the entire inpatient team.
