Project Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer to lead our project engineering team at our Head Office in Ely, Cambridgeshire. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the engineering and customer-facing activities, ensuring the successful completion of each contract.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the engineering of the project, ensuring all phases are carried out to meet the project schedule and budget.
  • Coordinate the project team and manage customer communication.
  • Lead project meetings, including design and constructability reviews, HAZOP, P&ID, GA, process, mechanical, E&I, and control system meetings.
  • Manage the implications of changes and ensure the overall design integrity.
  • Specify and procure equipment for incorporation into the package.
  • Provide technical support and feedback to the proposals team.
  • Support manufacturing and participate in testing and inspections.
  • Regularly report on key deliverables, such as man-hours, bought-out items, and completion dates.
  • Ensure the design meets all required customer specifications, industry standards, and codes.
  • Generate project-specific engineering procedures and documentation.
  • Ensure all drawings and documents meet project requirements.
  • Achieve project milestone dates to support cash flow.
  • Approve supplier invoices.

Requirements:

  • Mechanical, Chemical, or Process Engineering degree.
  • Demonstrable experience in a project engineering role, preferably in the energy industry.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, technical, and organizational skills.

This is a mainly office-based role, although some travel to our workshops, suppliers, or customer sites may be required from time to time, both nationally and internationally.
