We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Assistant Psychologist to join our team at Swansea Bay University Health Board. As an Assistant Psychologist, you will play a vital role in supporting the development of our Paediatric Recovery From Illness multi-disciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver psychological support to children and young people within a multi-disciplinary team context.
- Develop individual plans and resources, as well as provide training and advice on the psychological needs of children and young people with chronic symptoms.
- Provide individual psychological interventions directly to children, young people, and families, as well as develop and facilitate group interventions.
- Graduate membership of the British Psychological Society (BPS) and a good psychology degree.
- Knowledge of psychological and mental health issues for children and young people in paediatric or surgical settings.
- Relevant postgraduate training.
- Experience of working with children and families.
- Experience of working as an Assistant Psychologist or similar role.
- Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary team in the NHS.
- High-level communication skills.
- High-level IT skills and experience of managing data.
- Ability to speak Welsh (desirable).
