Lead Government and Public Affairs at the National Composites Centre

We are seeking an experienced professional to lead our government and public affairs efforts at the National Composites Centre (NCC). As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with national and regional government, as well as business and industry networks.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and deliver a government and public affairs strategy that aligns with the NCC's goals and objectives
  • Act as a strategic account manager with HM government departments, national funding organisations, and business networks
  • Provide thought leadership and develop robust policy positions on innovation and industrial strategy
  • Anticipate and react to breaking news stories, issuing swift and appropriate responses
  • Work effectively with the 'Head of Public Affairs – Regional and Research Partnership' to ensure national-local alignment
Requirements:
  • Good knowledge of the workings of national and regional government
  • Proven record of facilitating conversations to promote positive change
  • Demonstrable professional experience and knowledge of public affairs
  • Developed understanding of strategic account management principles
