Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and innovative professional to lead our Special Collections team. As Head of Special Collections, you will be responsible for the management and development of our internationally important collection of archives and rare books.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work as part of our Library Services leadership team. You will ensure the Collection plays an active role as a facility supporting teaching and learning, as an academic research resource for internal and external users, and as a catalyst for developing cultural and civic partnerships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the team who deliver the service and ensure the highest standards of collection care
  • Work closely with other Heads of Collections within the Culture and Collection Group
  • Develop and implement strategies to ensure the Collection remains relevant, discoverable and accessible to academic, cultural & creative and public communities
  • Ensure compliance with professional standards and accreditation
