Kimbolton, United Kingdom Dovetail and Slate Ltd Full time

Have you ever thought about making a difference in a correctional facility?

This role presents a remarkable chance to educate and support adult learners in a unique environment.

If you are seeking a distinctive and rewarding position that allows you to impact lives positively, enhance learners' futures, and contribute to their rehabilitation, this opportunity may be ideal for you.

Working in a prison setting comes with its own set of challenges. In this environment, learners spend significant time away from their families, often grappling with the consequences of their past actions. Education serves as a vital tool for them, providing focus and hope.

By offering educational opportunities, we can help inmates acquire new skills, thereby improving their chances of future employment and reducing the likelihood of reoffending. Many individuals enter the system lacking basic skills in Maths and English. Our educational programs ensure that all learners engage with Functional Skills in these subjects, paving the way for vocational training in areas such as Carpentry, Bricklaying, Painting & Decorating, Plastering & Tiling, Industrial Cleaning, Barbering, Catering, and Horticulture.

Prisons are equipped with dedicated educational departments, featuring classrooms and workshops that facilitate effective teaching and learning. You will receive comprehensive support from a seasoned educational team, with opportunities for professional development.

Position Details:

  • Regularly evaluating learners' progress to ensure that the training meets their evolving needs.
  • Designing, delivering, and reviewing detailed lesson plans that address the training requirements of the group, including foundational literacy, numeracy, language skills, and other barriers to employment.
  • Actively seeking feedback from learners and other stakeholders to refine and enhance curriculum content.
  • Motivating and engaging both individuals and groups to improve retention rates.

Work Schedule: Full-time, 37 hours per week

Salary: Starting from £30,000 per annum
