Job Overview

Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Senior Mental Health Practitioner to join our Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) team in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality mental health services to children, young people, and their families.

Main Responsibilities

As a Senior Mental Health Practitioner, you will be responsible for:

  • Conducting initial assessments and delivering comprehensive mental health services to children, young people, and their families.
  • Providing psycho-educational advice and practical support to young people and their families using evidence-based interventions and collaborative, recovery-focused approaches.
  • Contributing to the clinical leadership of the team, providing supervision for other team members, and participating in team service development and evaluation.
  • Working closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care and support for our service users.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A relevant professional mental health qualification as a Mental Health Nurse, Occupational Therapist, or Social Worker.
  • Current registration with the relevant professional body (NMC, HCPC, BACP).
  • Evidence of continuous professional development.
  • Significant post-qualifying mental health experience, including experience of being a Care Coordinator or managing a caseload.
  • Working knowledge of community services and risk assessment and management skills, particularly in relation to safeguarding children and young people.
