About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Specialist Doctor to join our East Kent HCP Frailty/Home Treatment Service. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Advanced and expert level clinical practice within the field of frailty, ensuring clinical excellence
  • Leadership and consultancy, providing expert professional advice to patients, carers, and colleagues
  • Development and provision of education and training to other staff and trainees
  • Service development, evaluation, research, and audit
  • Shared decision-making with families, trainee staff, and external organisations
  • MDT collaboration within and across organisational boundaries
  • Supporting the development of your team and demonstrating leadership abilities
  • Contributing to organisational learning
  • Critically appraising current research and sharing best practice

Requirements
  • Full GMC registration
  • 12 years post-qualification experience, including 3 years of community frailty work
  • Extensive clinical experience in the care and treatment of people with frailty
  • Independent prescribing experience
  • Experience of advanced specialist interventions in the assessment and management of older patients
  • Experience of teaching and education provision
  • Extensive experience in report writing
  • Experience of planning, implementation, and delivery of educational programmes relating to long-term conditions
  • Experience of working across organisational boundaries with partners
  • Experience with evidence of audit, research, and innovation applied in practice
  • Experience of strategy development and implementation
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • A postgraduate qualification (MRCP, Diploma, or Masters) relevant to the role
  • Extensive research knowledge
  • Peer review of research or publications skills
