RM Recruit is working in collaboration with a Staffordshire-based Multi Academy Trust to recruit a Management Accounting Finance Manager for their team. Our client is a sizable trust that has seen consistent growth to reach a family of 25 academies. They are undertaking a period of wholesale positive change in their finance function via a multitude of improvement projects, including a Sage systems upgrade.
Your Key Responsibilities- Monthly Management Control and Reporting: Provide leadership to the finance team during these projects to empower team members to have full involvement in reducing month-end timetables, standardising management accounting across all schools/cost centres, and improving the accuracy of the end-to-end financial process.
- Financial Planning and Analysis: Act as a key contact between Heads, Senior Staff, and other Finance team members to ensure that the management accounts are supported by the financial accounts and deliver accurate reports on the financial performance of each individual academy in the trust.
- Financial Improvement Plans: Develop and implement financial improvement plans for individual academies, acting as the key point of liaison.
- Trust-Wide Variance Analysis and KPIs: Develop trust-wide variance analysis and KPIs processes that are communicated and adhered to by finance and non-finance team members.
- Budgets, Forecasts, and Strategic Plans: Responsibility for the delivery of budgets, forecasts, and strategic plans while maintaining a high profile within finance and beyond.
- Data Integrity: Ensure data integrity at all times between Sage and IMP.
- Team Management: Oversee a team of 12 team members, including 1-2-1 management and career development.
The successful candidate will be fully qualified (ACA/ACCA/ACMA) or actively studying and possess confident team management experience. Whatever your sector background, you will be able to demonstrate proven management accounting experience with a focus on forward planning and best-in-class finance business partnering. Sage 200 or Sage Intacct experience would be an advantage, particularly around implementations.
This role will operate on a hybrid working model, and benefits include a Local Government Pension Scheme.
RM Recruit is committed to Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion and will treat all applicants equally, irrespective of sex, sexual orientation, marital/civil partnership status, age, disability, race, religion, pregnancy, ethnic or national origin.
