Role Overview
In this unique position, you will be at the forefront of delivering critical defense capabilities. Your responsibilities will encompass the verification, validation, and commissioning of submarine propulsion systems, ranging from initial installation assessments to comprehensive sea trials.

Key Responsibilities
Your daily tasks will include:

  • Overseeing the safe operation of all machinery and processes under your supervision, ensuring compliance with relevant safety regulations and standards.
  • Conducting thorough research and preparation of testing documentation in alignment with established protocols, ensuring clarity and adherence to project specifications.
  • Performing inspections, testing, calibration, and commissioning of systems and equipment, while diagnosing faults and proposing effective solutions as necessary.
  • Identifying and documenting any operational defects or deficiencies, ensuring that all emergent issues are promptly addressed.
  • Maintaining collaborative relationships with project teams and other departments to ensure that systems and equipment meet the required commissioning standards.

This position is full-time, requiring a commitment of 35 hours per week.

Essential Qualifications and Experience
To be successful in this role, candidates should possess:

  • Experience in the commissioning, operation, and maintenance of mechanical systems (desirable).
  • The ability to safely manage high-energy systems.
  • A proven track record of working to high standards in demanding environments.
  • Strong organizational, planning, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in interpreting system drawings and technical documentation.

Required Qualifications
Applicants should have:

  • A completed mechanical apprenticeship.
  • ONC or equivalent qualification in a Mechanical Engineering discipline.

Security Clearance Requirements
The selected candidate must be eligible to obtain and maintain Security Check (SC) clearance for this position.
