About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Commissioning Engineer Machinery to join our team. As a Commissioning Engineer Machinery, you will be responsible for safely implementing and managing allocated commissioning packages of work in line with project requirements, technical and regulatory standards and specifications.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan, assess, and generate Safe Systems of Work and manage the subsequent implementation of the allocated work scope in accordance with the commissioning strategy and commissioning safety plan.
  • Manage the safe delivery of allocated Mechanical commissioning work packages by working collaboratively with other members of the site team and Customers organisation.
  • Oversee the implementation of the Mechanical work packages to ensure that work meets the required technical and quality standards.
  • Provide Mechanical technical input/support for handover and commissioning on pipework, Pump plant room, demin polishing plants, and associated equipment.
  • Supervise contractors onsite activities during handover and commissioning.
  • Ensure onsite documentation is completed during handover and commissioning.
  • Plan and assess the technical and engineering requirements of work packages so that all identified hazards are adequately managed and controlled.
  • Produce Safe Systems of Work (Risk Assessments, Methods Statements etc.)
  • Manage, control, and set to work sub-contractors where applicable (including review and approval of sub-contractors Safe Systems of Work).
  • Ensure those work teams and sub-contractors being set to work have the right tools and equipment, are trained and competent to do the work task being requested.
  • Provide regular reports and information on progress of work against agreed schedules and key performance indicators.
  • Continually monitor all phases of the work so as to identify any risks to planned activities and/or schedule including the implementation of agreed improvements/actions to mitigate against the identified risk.
  • Immediately report any unplanned events or incidents to the Commissioning Manager.
  • Supervise, oversee, and mentor Commissioning Engineers where applicable (Senior Commissioning Engineer only).
  • Assist the Commissioning Manager in undertaking his duties including deputising in his absence where applicable.
Requirements:
  • Vocational Qualification Level 6 / Bachelor's Degree / SVQ Level 4
  • Membership of an appropriate Engineering Institution. Or NVQ Level 4 / HNC-HND / SVQ Level 3 augmented with specific experience
  • Membership of an appropriate Engineering Institution.
  • Demonstrable experience of undertaking a similar role in a complex, multi-discipline and highly regulated environment (preferably Nuclear)
  • Appointment as a Risk Assessor as per IO-PRD-006
