Job Summary:

MERcury Hampton is seeking a skilled Field Service Engineer with a mechanical or electrical background to join our dynamic team in the North of England. As a key member of our packaging partner's team, you will be responsible for performing on-site installation, commissioning, and maintenance of packaging equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform on-site installation, commissioning, and maintenance of packaging equipment to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults in packaging machinery, utilizing your technical expertise and problem-solving skills.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance to identify and address potential issues before they become major problems.
  • Provide technical support and training to clients on proper equipment usage, ensuring they are able to operate the machinery safely and effectively.
  • Complete accurate service reports and maintain detailed documentation to track maintenance activities and equipment performance.

Requirements:

  • Field Service Experience: Hands-on technical experience with electro-mechanical systems, ideally within the packaging industry or a similar field.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in fault diagnosis, particularly with PLC logic, and experience working with machine and electrical parts, components, and assembly.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a field service role, preferably in the packaging industry.
  • Strong electrical/mechanical technical skills, including the ability to read blueprints and schematics.
  • Valid driving license and willingness to travel within the region.
  • HNC/HND or equivalent in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
