Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Management Accountant to join our Engineering business area. As a key member of our finance team, you will provide financial and business partnering support to drive business growth and improvement.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Provide month-end accounting and reporting of financial performance based on IFRS15 Revenue from Contracts principles, including analysis and advice on corrective actions.
  2. Ensure overall IFRS15 reporting compliance for the business.
  3. Coordinate and calculate the annual RDEC self-assessment claim.
  4. Coordinate and calculate the Patent Box tax claim.
  5. Lead financial submission of all Engineering/Technology grant applications.
  6. Finance approver for purchase requisitions.
  7. Facilitate and ensure robust inputs from business areas for forecasts, budgets, and the MTP (Mid Term Plan).
  8. Work closely with the Finance Manager - Programmes & Engineering, the Management Accountant - Programmes and Purchasing, and Programme Managers and Directors to provide financial support for robust EAC reviews.
  9. Provide monthly analysis and forecasts of cost-saving initiatives for the Engineering business area, including validation of claimed savings.
  10. Monthly review and analysis of RTDI.
  11. Promote increased financial understanding and awareness in business areas, working with the Finance team and business to develop informative and value-added KPI reporting.
  12. Ensure adequate financial controls are in place and maintained, acting as the conscience of the business to ensure general controls and processes are adhered to in business areas in line with best practice.

Requirements
  • Qualified Accountant
  • Good understanding of discounted cash flow modelling and financial assessment of different business options
  • Proficient in the use of all MS Office packages, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
  • Month-end accounting, reporting, and forecasting support in a cross-functional environment within Industry
  • Working within a fast-paced Group Company environment
  • Building relationships with and managing internal customers and stakeholders
  • Strong attention to detail - role will prepare reports to be presented to senior Executives
  • Analytical mindset
  • Demonstrated ability to work to deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Team player
