We are seeking a highly skilled Finance Assistant to support our team in Thurrock. This role involves a variety of accounting tasks, including bank reconciliations, invoicing, and handling VAT returns.
Key Responsibilities:- Conducting bank reconciliations and maintaining cashbooks for various companies.
- Generating contract invoicing and managing sundry invoicing for multiple companies.
- Reconciling invoice discounting for hire companies.
- Processing urgent one-off payments as required.
- Preparing and submitting VAT returns for selected companies.
- Handling sales invoicing and maintaining the purchase ledger for ad hoc companies.
- Performing monthly nominal reconciliations to ensure accuracy in financial reporting.
- AAT qualified or equivalent experience in finance.
- Proven experience with bank reconciliations and handling cashbooks.
- Familiarity with contract and sales invoicing, as well as purchase ledger management.
- Competence in conducting invoice discounting reconciliations.
- Experience in preparing and submitting VAT returns.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
