Position Overview

The South East Covid Vaccination Team is responsible for the management, coordination, and oversight of the regional Covid vaccination initiative, collaborating closely with Integrated Care Boards (ICBs) to ensure optimal vaccination uptake and coverage within the community. The team is dedicated to maintaining equality in service delivery, focusing on quality and population needs, while making informed decisions based on data analysis.

As a Clinical Project Coordinator within the Clinical & Quality division, the successful candidate will be part of a dynamic and supportive multidisciplinary team, committed to delivering safe, effective, and evidence-based healthcare services. This role involves supporting managers and staff across the South East Covid Vaccination Team to ensure the efficient operation of a high-performing vaccination service.

The post holder will collaborate with the Head of Nursing, Clinical and Quality to ensure that the clinical team's activities are well-planned and managed, taking the lead in facilitating their successful execution. This position offers a unique opportunity to engage with regional operations, fostering relationships and working in partnership with ICB colleagues to enhance clinical pathways, quality assurance systems, and related quality improvements.

Main Responsibilities

The ideal candidate will be a registered nurse with a solid clinical and operational background, complemented by project management experience. A comprehensive understanding of clinical quality, safety, and patient experience is essential, along with a passion for driving quality improvement and enhancing clinical outcomes.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Managing clinical incidents on behalf of the Covid programme, collaborating effectively to ensure successful resolution.
  • Working in partnership to ensure thorough investigations of incidents, capturing lessons learned and sharing insights appropriately.
  • Producing monthly quality and safety reports that highlight key incident themes, emerging risks, and ensuring that mitigation strategies and lessons learned are effectively integrated.
  • Supporting the clinical cell team in managing quality improvement initiatives related to the clinical aspects of the programme.
  • Assisting in the resolution of clinical and quality issues related to Covid vaccination, raised by ICBs, while updating the clinical risk register and supporting appropriate mitigation efforts.
  • Actively participating in clinical team meetings, providing updates on your portfolio of work, and contributing to the effective operation of the clinical and programme strategy.
  • Collaborating across the broader programme team to facilitate and support the delivery of clinical, quality, and improvement priorities as directed.
