We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Health and Safety Manager to join our team at the Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Estates Team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the Trust maintains a safe and healthy environment for our patients, visitors, and staff.
Key Responsibilities- Provide expert advice and guidance on health and safety matters to managers and staff across the Trust.
- Develop and implement effective health and safety policies, procedures, and systems to ensure compliance with legislation and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies to minimize hazards and ensure a safe working environment.
- Collaborate with the Estates Team, Capital Projects, and Management Group to deliver health and safety initiatives and projects.
- Represent the Trust at regional IOSH Health and Safety meetings and attend training updates to maintain compliance with statutory and legal requirements.
The Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Foundation Trust provides services to West Cheshire and Welsh patients covered by Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board. We work collaboratively within the Cheshire and Merseyside Health and Care Partnership and employ over 6258 staff across three locations.
Person Specification- NEBOSH level 6 Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent experience.
- Chartered Member of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH).
- Substantial health and safety knowledge, preferably within a healthcare environment, with experience of risk management.
