We are seeking a highly skilled and organized Claims Handler to join our Fleet and Specialist Products team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for proactively managing a portfolio of Fleet and Specialist products in motor claims from start to settlement.
Key Responsibilities- Claims Validation: Validate all claims for indemnity and fraud, ensuring accurate and timely decision-making.
- Liability Assessment: Assess liability, including communication of our decision, to ensure transparency and fairness.
- Claimant Communication: Contact all potential claimants or representatives in a timely manner to establish our exposure in respect of all Heads of Damage, ensuring that key information is obtained and updated on the claim file.
- Quantum Assessment: Accurately assess claims presented using relevant tools and resources.
- Exposure Reduction: Identify cases where intervening on vehicle losses will reduce our overall exposure, utilizing the resource of specialist in-house motor engineers.
- Indemnity Spend Minimization: Ensure indemnity spend is minimized by commercial decision-making.
- Diary Management: Proactively manage your diary to monitor and progress cases.
- Reserve Management: Apply and investigate to ensure accurate reserves in line with company guidelines.
- Performance Accountability: Be accountable for your own performance against set objectives.
- Best Practice Adherence: Adhere to best practice and key strategies.
- File and Portfolio Management: Effectively manage files and portfolios.
- Team Support: Assist with coaching and mentoring of less experienced handlers.
- Strong Communication Skills: Persuasive, strong, and confident communicator with the ability to relationship manage.
- Initiative and Motivation: Ability to use own initiative to explore all options to achieve the best outcome for the business.
- Team Player: Ability to work as part of a team.
- Culture Fit: Ability to work in a culture of openness, trust, and respect.
- Organizational Skills: Strong organization skills with the ability to prioritize tasks.
- Analytical Skills: Ability to fact-find and analyze information to result in accurate decision-making.
- Industry Knowledge: Significant PI and/or credit hire claims experience, commercial market awareness, and extensive working knowledge of the Pre-Action Protocol, Civil Procedure Rules & hourly rate costs.
- Portal Experience: Experience of handling Injury claims outside of the Low Value Personal Injury claims Portal.
