About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Medical Transcription Specialist to join our team at Velindre University NHS Trust. As a key member of our Health Records team, you will play a vital role in providing an efficient and effective Health Records service.

Main Responsibilities

As a Medical Transcription Specialist, you will be responsible for:

  • Audio typing and scanning routine clinical information on Welsh Clinical Portal
  • Liaising closely with medical secretaries, secretarial assistants, and clinic coordinators
  • Ensuring routine typing is completed in date order unless otherwise instructed by the Medical Secretarial Manager/Health Records Manager

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Advanced keyboard skills
  • Excellent audio transcription skills
  • Good general education, GCSE passes to include English and/or equivalent qualifications

Desirable Qualifications

We welcome applications from candidates with:

  • NHS experience, working in a hospital environment
  • Medical Terminology knowledge
  • Ability to speak Welsh
