Location: HMP Standford Hill

Salary: £36,595 per annum

Contract Type: Full Time, Permanent

We are in search of a committed Electrical Testing and Inspection Specialist to become a vital part of our team at HMP Standford Hill, a category D men's correctional facility.

As part of the Facilities Maintenance Team, we are dedicated to ensuring the seamless and safe functioning of the facility, impacting every inmate, staff member, visitor, and extending to their families and the broader community.

In your role as an Electrical Testing and Inspection Specialist, you will collaborate with experienced and passionate professionals, including Plumbers, Electricians, Carpenters, Painters, Cleaners, and Administrators, all committed to making a positive impact and ensuring a safe and secure environment for everyone.

As a Ministry of Justice entity, we provide essential and time-sensitive services to HMPPS, and we are looking for an Electrical Testing and Inspection Specialist with a combination of the following qualifications:

  • A minimum of five years of experience as an electrician
  • At least two years in a testing and inspection role or equivalent
  • Desirable: Experience with commercial or industrial electrical systems and catering equipment
  • Good understanding of relevant health and safety regulations
  • Strong communication abilities
  • Basic IT proficiency, including knowledge of Microsoft Office Excel and Word
  • Desirable: Experience working under pressure with tight deadlines
  • C&G 2367 or 2357 (Electrical Installation)
  • C&G Electrical Inspection and Testing
  • NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installations or equivalent
  • Strong health and safety knowledge
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and interpersonal skills
