Job Summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced General Practitioner to join our team at Acorn Group Practice.

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated General Practitioner to undertake a salaried position within our practice.

Main Responsibilities
  • Undertake surgery consultations, telephone consultations, and queries, visiting patients at home, checking and signing repeat prescriptions, and dealing with queries, paperwork, and correspondence in a timely fashion.
  • Make professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems.
  • Assess the healthcare needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems.
  • Screen patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness.
  • Develop care plans for health and provide health education to patients.
  • Record clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards.
  • Collect data for audit purposes.
  • Compile and issue computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions (avoiding handwritten prescriptions whenever possible).
  • Prescribe in accordance with the practice prescribing formulary (or generically) whenever this is clinically appropriate.
About Us

At Acorn Group Practice, we have a fantastic clinical and administration team.

The clinical team consists of:

  • 2 GP Partners
  • 3 Salaried GPs
  • 1 ANP
  • 1 PA
  • 1 Practice Nurse
  • 1 HCA
  • 2 Clinical Pharmacists

The administration team consists of care coordinators and admin/reception staff who are all well-trained to support both patients and clinicians alike.

We use EMIS, DOCMAN, and AccuRx as our clinical systems.

We are part of South West London ICB.

Job Requirements
  • Previous experience of working within a GP Practice within Primary Care.
  • To hold a degree in medicine that is recognized by the General Medical Council (GMC).
  • To have completed a two-year foundation course in general training.
  • To complete specialist training in general medical practice.
