About the Role

We are seeking an experienced General Practitioner to join our team on maternity cover. As a Salaried GP, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the effectiveness of our practice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Undertake surgery consultations, telephone consultations, and queries, visiting patients at home, checking and signing repeat prescriptions, and dealing with queries, paperwork, and correspondence in a timely fashion.
  • Make professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems.
  • Assess the healthcare needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems.
  • Screen patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness.
  • Develop care plans for health and provide health education to patients.
  • Record clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards.
  • Collect data for audit purposes.
  • Compile and issue computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions (avoiding handwritten prescriptions whenever possible).
  • Prescribe in accordance with the practice prescribing formulary (or generically) whenever this is clinically appropriate.

We have a fantastic clinical and administration team, including 2 GP Partners, 3 Salaried GPs, 1 ANP, 1 PA, 1 Practice Nurse, 1 HCA, and 2 Clinical Pharmacists. We use EMIS, DOCMAN, and AccuRx as our clinical systems and are part of South West London ICB.

Person Specification

  • Previous experience of working within a GP Practice within Primary Care.
  • To hold a degree in medicine that is recognised by the General Medical Council (GMC).
  • To have completed a two-year foundation course in general training.
  • To complete specialist training in general medical practice.
