Job Title: Field Service Engineer

Andy File Associates Limited is working as a Recruitment Agency on behalf of our client with regards to this permanent position of Field Service Engineer.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Field Service Engineer to join our team. As a Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing our innovative mobile furniture solutions. You will work independently, visiting customer premises within a designated geographical region, and perform a range of tasks including servicing, repairs, inspections, and other reasonable tasks upon request.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Deliver exceptional customer experience by providing timely and efficient service.
  2. Attend customer sites as scheduled, unless agreed with the Field Service Supervisor or Customer Experience Manager.
  3. Perform annual servicing of all products to ensure optimal performance.
  4. Repair products using stock from the vehicle, and document repairs or replacements as required.
  5. Conduct inspections as requested by the client.
  6. Maintain company equipment, including the vehicle, to the required standards.
  7. Complete a weekly Kanban form with required parts, and submit it to the team.
  8. Receive and load stock onto the vehicle after delivery.
  9. Maintain adequate stock on the vehicle to fulfill the role requirements.
  10. Manage maintenance work to minimize downtime.
  11. Accurately record time sheets, job sheets, and stock paperwork using a laptop.
  12. Collaborate with the scheduling department to deliver an efficient and effective schedule of work.
  13. Review schedules and suggest improvements to optimize efficiency.
  14. Work with the scheduling team to achieve monthly shipment goals as forecasted.
  15. Adhere to departmental and company processes and procedures.
  16. Cover for other team members when required.
  17. Contribute to building relationships with other areas of the business to support overall business objectives.
Requirements:
  • Experience with the installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical or structural products, preferably with furniture.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and knowledge of tools and equipment used for assembling and repairing furniture.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve mechanical or product-related issues quickly.
  • Physical strength and stamina to handle manual handling and assembly of furniture.
  • A valid driver's license is required for travel to customer sites.
  • Previous experience in a service engineer or field technician role is an advantage.
  • Experience in furniture manufacturing or installation is a plus.
