Job Summary

We are seeking an exceptional candidate to join our Critical Care Directorate as a part-time Locum Consultant in Intensive Care Medicine. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic team of 27 Consultants in Intensive Care, with a variety of special interests including renal medicine, trauma, research, emergency surgery, and neurosciences.

Main Duties of the Job

The appointee will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, working closely with the multidisciplinary team to deliver excellent patient outcomes. The successful candidate will have experience of working in specialty critical care, with a strong understanding of ultrasound and/or Echo. Familiarity with inter-hospital transfer of critically ill patients and experience of working in a cardiogenic shock/ECMO centre is also essential.

Person Specification
  • On Specialist Register for Intensive Care Medicine / Specialty Registrar with CCT / CESR (CP) due within 3 months of interview date
  • Postgraduate ICM qualification FICM, DICM, EDIC or equivalent
  • Experience of working in specialty critical care Cardiac
  • Familiarity with inter-hospital transfer of critically ill patients
  • Familiarity of ultrasound and/or Echo
  • Experience of working in a cardiogenic shock/ECMO centre
