About the Role

Hays Senior Finance is delighted to be partnering exclusively with The University of Warwick (Warwick Business School) to recruit a Finance Business Partner to join their research division on a permanent basis.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Planning and Monitoring: Support the financial planning and monitoring of research activity, providing advice and guidance within the school.
  • Financial Advice and Guidance: Act as an advisor on financial matters for relevant school budget holders, including attending meetings to discuss and influence performance, advising on applying financial regulations, training budget holders, and disseminating financial management best practice.
  • Emergent Issues: Advise the Chief Finance Officer and Head of Finance of any major emergent issues with respect to Research.
  • Financial Systems and Processes: Maintain and improve systems for recording and monitoring the financial activities of all research activities to enable revenue, overheads, and individual staff funding to be accurately forecast throughout the planning cycle.
  • Financial Administration: Provide professional supervision of the financial administration role of Research Activity support staff, ensuring the correct procedures and processes are followed in relation both to individual bids and to the overall administration of the activity.
  • University and School Working Groups: Engage with University and school working groups as required, including analysing information and data and providing briefings and recommendations.
  • SAP Efficiency: Maximise the use of SAP to improve the efficiency and flow of information.
  • Financial Processing: Check and authorise purchase orders, fee payment requests, and sales invoices and contribute to the management of other financial processing functions as required.
Requirements
  • Qualifications: Be an ACA, ACCA, or CIMA Qualified Accountant.
  • Experience: Extensive financial management experience, including budgeting and monitoring complex activities.
  • Skills: Strong management accounting/project accounting experience.
  • Benefits: Up to 20% pension contribution and 30 days annual leave + bank holiday.
