About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Assistant Management Accountant to join our team at Page Personnel. As a key member of our finance department, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Senior Management Accountant and contributing to the success of our global FMCG business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation of the group consolidated Management Accounts, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with senior stakeholders across various departments, providing financial insights and analysis to inform business decisions.
  • Work closely with senior stakeholders to review and discuss budget allocations, identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing changes as needed.
  • Manage the General Ledger, ensuring accurate and up-to-date financial records.
  • Provide regular AR and AP ledger overviews, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Ensure accurate coding of AP invoices onto the system, maintaining a high level of attention to detail.
  • Perform Balance Sheet reconciliations, identifying and resolving any discrepancies.
  • Handle Accruals and Prepayments, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance.
  • Prepare VAT returns, ensuring timely and accurate submission.
  • Assist with external audits, providing financial information and support as needed.
  • Conduct ad hoc analysis and reporting, providing insights and recommendations to inform business decisions.

Requirements

  • 2-3 years of experience in a similar Assistant Management Accountant role, with a strong understanding of financial accounting principles.
  • Flexibility in prior industry experience, with a preference for FMCG, retail, or fashion industries.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
  • Experience supporting multi-site organizations, with a strong understanding of financial reporting and compliance.
  • Studying towards the ACCA, CIMA, or AAT qualification, with a strong commitment to ongoing professional development.
  • Excellent Excel skills, with experience using V-lookups, Pivot Tables, Summifs, and Formulas.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
