Job Description

Job Title: Residential Support Worker

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Residential Support Worker to join our team at KSS CRC. As a Residential Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing support and guidance to women who are reintegrating into the community after serving time in prison or completing a community sentence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver daily structured living skills sessions, including leisure and creative activities, to support residents in developing essential life skills.
  • Provide emotional support and guidance to residents, helping them to overcome challenges and become independent.
  • Assist with the induction of new residents, ensuring they feel welcome and familiar with the environment and rules.
  • Maintain a safe and supportive environment, undertaking regular inspections of the building and reporting any concerns.
  • Act as Fire Warden and First Aider on duty, providing critical support in emergency situations.
  • Maintain accurate records and files, inputting information into computer-based systems in a timely and efficient manner.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrate empathy and tact when dealing with confidential and sensitive issues.
  • Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with good listening skills.
  • Exercise authority and reinforce boundaries in an appropriate manner.
  • Work independently and cope with stressful situations.
