Responsibilities

As a Senior Backend Developer, you will contribute to the development of backend components for all Bitfinex services, including but not limited to the main trading application, Bitfinex Pay, Lightning Network support, and Blockchain integrations. Your responsibilities will encompass:

  • Innovative Product Development - Bitfinex is committed to continuously enhancing the trading experience for our customers by introducing innovative features. These developments are executed using agile methodologies to ensure an exceptional user experience.
  • Performance Scalability - It is essential that all backend services supporting the Bitfinex platform remain seamless, responsive, and real-time as we scale to accommodate an increasing user base. A prime example is the renowned Bitfinex API, recognized for its robustness, low latency, and comprehensiveness in the industry.
  • Security Assurance - At Bitfinex, security is our utmost priority. The Backend Development team is tasked with constructing all API services and backend processes adhering to the highest security standards to safeguard our entire user base.
Qualifications
  • 6+ Years of experience with Node.js and JavaScript
  • Experience within the Cryptocurrency or Financial Sector.
  • Familiarity with microservices architecture.
  • Active participation in the development of complex platforms.
  • Proficient in database interactions (MySQL, MongoDB).
  • Ability to swiftly adapt to new technologies.
  • Strong understanding of security practices.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with blockchain integration.
  • Comfortable with high-availability concepts.
  • Familiarity with Ruby, Rust, or C++ is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of additional technologies such as message queues (Redis), caches, and job queues.
