KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Execute a rigorous schedule of planned preventive maintenance for all company machinery and equipment, regularly updating the schedule as necessary.

- Perform routine maintenance on all machinery and equipment, including troubleshooting, problem-solving, and minor repairs to minimize downtime.

- Ensure accurate and timely completion of all maintenance logs and schedules to comply with health and safety regulations, company policies, and ISO standards.
- Coordinate with external contractors as needed and assist them during their site visits.

- Maintain adequate inventory of spare parts for commonly used items or those with extended lead times.

- Develop and continuously update technical documentation for plant and equipment through collaboration with suppliers and operators.
- Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly health and safety inspections, taking prompt corrective actions as necessary. Report any issues or unsafe practices to the relevant supervisor and health and safety personnel, along with recommendations for improvements.

- Perform minor mechanical and electrical repairs related to facilities and utilities, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.

- Modify workstations and new equipment setups as required.

- Follow up on action items from the Health & Safety Improvement Log and Health and Safety Committee within agreed timelines.

- Adhere to quality procedures related to maintenance, such as calibration of measuring instruments.
- Provide minor troubleshooting and maintenance for office equipment as needed.
- Review and suggest improvements for processes, procedures, and documentation in the maintenance area.
- Communicate changes in processes to relevant parties to ensure appropriate follow-up, including training.

- Report all major breakdowns, significant issues, repair needs, delays, or machine downtime to the appropriate personnel in a timely manner.

- Liaise with customers and suppliers as necessary to clarify technical details and resolve issues.
- Travel to other business sites as required for training and operational needs.
- Undertake any other reasonable duties or project work as assigned by management.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
- A minimum of 4 years' relevant experience in Mechatronics (including apprenticeship training).

- Proven experience as a Maintenance Technician, with skills in machinery repairs, troubleshooting, and problem-solving within a manufacturing context.

- Familiarity with pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations and practices.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Good judgment and common sense.
- Ability to plan effectively and work independently.
- Capable of prioritizing tasks and managing time efficiently.
- Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation if necessary.
- Proficient literacy and numeracy skills.
- Flexibility regarding working hours and availability for overtime.
- Genuine interest in machinery and problem-solving.
- Good overall health and a strong attendance record.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
- Relevant mechanical engineering qualifications (e.g., NVQ, ONC, OND, Engineering).
- At least 2 years of relevant post-qualification/apprenticeship experience.
- Experience with pneumatic systems.
- Familiarity with sewing machines and cutting/pressing machinery.
- Proficient in computer applications, including databases and MS Office.
